Our Mission

At The Learning Garden, we know kids. From our experienced, caring staff and St Paul Lutheran Church to our clean, safe facility, weœre in a class of our own. You'll notice the difference from the moment you walk in the door. Our concepts put the attention solely on the kids. When they'œre here, it all about them. Our goal is to nurture the child as a whole: to promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual growth. Families are encouraged to become involved in their children activities as well as activities that the church has to offer. A strong happy family has strong happy children. The words of Proverbs define our philosophy of care here at The Learning Garden. We believe that we are to assist children in coming to know Jesus Christ.

Philosophy

We believe that positive, early childhood experiences affect children successes and perspectives throughout their lives. As caregivers, we strive to support and encourage our children to learn and grow in a fun and educational setting. We will work together with our parents to ensure that our children feel safe and cared for while they are here. The following principles shall serve as the foundation for our program here at The Learning Garden.

Young children need consistency between home and child care.

Family is what is most meaningful to a child. Learning begins in a family, continues in early care and education settings, and depends on parent involvement and caregiver guidance. A child home language and culture can play a significant role in the child cognitive and linguistic development.

Children develop knowledge of their world through active interactions with caregivers, peers, materials, and events.

Without a safe environment, children are not free to explore and learn. Supervision is the primary means of ensuring the safety of children.

Outdoor experiences provide many opportunities for learning that an indoor environment cannot.

Children naturally mimic familiar situations and places in their everyday lives. Guidance and redirection foster socialization and strengthen a child sense of security by providing children with boundaries and choices.

Music and movement activities provide opportunities for large and small motor development and can be a wonderful sensory experience.

Who We Are

We are a non-profit child care center where children are important, not profit! Our center has been in business since 2013 and we are constantly improving to meet the ever changing needs of the children in our care.

We are licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. We are inspected at least twice a year and are subject to unscheduled inspection at all times.

We are currently a 4~Star Texas Rising Star Center through the Texas Workforce Commission as well as a Texas School Ready Center.

We are managed by our Director; Tracie Fielding who over sees the day to day operation of the center, and a voluntary Advisory Board who assists the Director and oversees the Center. We are staffed by well trained, caring teachers and classroom aides, and support personnel.

What We Do

We are committed to provide high quality care, age-appropriate activities, and follow all guidelines provided by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the Pre-K Guidelines, Texas Rising Star, Texas School Ready and the Texas Core and Competencies. We are very happy with our program at our Center and the children enjoy learning through day to day teacher planned activities.

We also provide breakfast, lunch, and a PM Snack for the toddlers, pre-school, and school age children.

On Wednesday we go to Chapel where Pastor Tim sings songs and prays with us and tells us a Bible story. In the summer our Preschool and School-Age children attend Vacation Bible School here at St. Paul Lutheran Church and at Christmas time our center joins the Sunday School children for their Christmas Program.

The Learning Garden Christian Child Care and Preschool is a Non-profit Corporation that provides quality child care services for children ages 6 weeks to 9 years. Our facility provides a clean, stimulating, and safe environment for your children. Our center is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Curriculum

The Learning Garden uses Frog Street Curriculum and we teach weekly bible lessons from Spark Activate Faith. This curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum for ages 1-5, focusing on Bible, academics, and development. Each curriculum contains goals and objectives to gauge the child learning and growth. Beyond the weekly lesson plans, ideas, and materials our teachers use many other resources in preparing their lessons.
